Something like a stand with a 120mm or 80mm fan it would probably be the perfect way to enhance the cooling for the Flirc case. You wont have to worry about using fans, the passive heatsink. Simply a way to push air up and around the case will pull the heat off more evenly. As the Raspberry Pi 4 gets quite a bit warmer than its predecessor, I recommend this case. This really highlights that probably isn't the way to go. I have been trying to wrap my head around a way t do some kind of forced air down directly on the cpu with a modified top to the case. Once that is done just a bit of air movement in the room around the case will probably be more then enough to meet anyones desires for cooling with that case. The flirc case itself provides a great way to pull the heat off the cpu with a good amount of thermal capacity. Just with doing that the temp went down to around 54~55 degrees. Even though there is a slot to allow a ribbon cable from the GPIO to pass out the bottom of thee case, some have found getting a 2 x 20 connector to fit to be a challenge. But if you want access to any internal connections then it's a bit challenging. So it isn't the coolest air, but just really to increase air movement. The FLIRC is the go to case for those wanting a nice looking great performing case. Does anyone happen to know if the gap between the case/heatsink and the CPU is small enough that I could just use some Arctic Silver thermal paste I saw on an Amazon. However, Ive read that the stock thermal pad it comes with isnt amazing. The case has a few 120mm quite 900rpm fans that exhaust the case heat up and out. Im buying a second Pi to set up with RetroPie, and I decided on the Flirc v2 case. So just as an experiment I put the Flirc Case with all 4 threads working on on top of my WHS homeserver.
